Clarence River
The Clarence River is a living link between the rugged highlands and the golden beaches that fringe the sparkling Pacific Ocean. It winds through deep ravines and broad plains, ancient forests, lush farmland, sleepy villages and features more than one hundred charted islands. Over 400km from source to sea, the Clarence is one of Australia's largest and most majestic waterways. It supports a multitude of birds and wildlife and fish stocks are abundant all year round.
Houseboating is the perfect way to enjoy our river and to take in all of the historic towns, sights and natural beauty along its banks.
Grafton
One of Australia's most beautiful provincial cities, Grafton is renowned for its jacaranda trees, graceful old buildings, sporting and cultural facilities, and its location on the banks of the Clarence River.
There are great restaurants, shopping and entertainment, and the pubs and clubs in town are easily accessible from the river using the supplied dinghy.
The Jacaranda Festival, held in October when the streets are line with vibrant purple blooms, is Australia's longest running floral festival.

Ulmarra (the historic village)
A visit to Ulmarra is like stepping back in time as it remains one of the finest examples of a 19th Century Australian river port. The entire village is classified by the National Trust.
Ulmarra has the greatest concentration of antique shops in the entire Clarence Valley and is an absolute must-see for those interested in picking up a slice of history for their very own.
It's a great place to visit and is easily accessible using the supplied dinghy.

Lawrence (the charming village)
Between Maclean and Grafton you will encounter the quiet charm of the village of Lawrence, originally established in 1856. Lawrence is located at the junction of Sportsman’s Creek and the Clarence River and offers fishing and plentiful bird life. The colonial style local tavern serves lunch or dinner and the local general store has take-away, groceries, liquor supplies, petrol and hair salon all in walking distance from the River bank. Memorial Park has BBQs, playgrounds, toilets and is a great spot for fishing and swimming.

Brushgrove is located on Woodford Island. The river splits at Brushgrove and both arms meet again at Maclean. Both arms have magnificent views and great fishing.
G2Y Houseboat Hire is located on the South Arm. The Brushgrove Hotel is located on the river bank and provides lunch, dinner and refreshments. It is a renowned dining establishment in the region for the great food and service supplied and is easily accesible with the dinghy supplied.

Brushgrove
Maclean
Maclean is very proud of its heritage and has been proclaimed "The Scottish Town in Australia". A cairn of rocks from Australia and Scotland commemorates Maclean's Scottish pioneers. Each year the clans invade for the Easter Highland Gathering and Scottish Week in July.
More than 100 telegraph poles along the main streets have been painted in the tartans of local Scottish clans.
Maclean and the golf club are both easily accessible from the river using the dinghy supplied.

Harwood
Harwood is the centre of the local sugar industry. The crushing mill is the oldest surviving mill in Australia. There are no mill tours but visitors are welcome to stop at the old tug 'Beardmore' where an industry information display is assembled.
The Harwood Hotel has been nicknamed "The Hilton" and it’s a good stop for food and drink.
The Harwood Bridge is the end of the cruising area for ALL of our house boats; you are NOT ALLOWED to go past the Harwood Bridge. The waters past this point are subject to strong tidal flow and can be dangerous for the novice skipper.
